Newborn
In-home newborn photographer in Lancashire
In-home photoshoots are just perfect for newborns. I love travelling in and around Lancashire and our local area to meet and photograph families with their new babies. There is something really beautiful about capturing raw moments of love and connection within the space where you share those treasured early days together. Just relax in the comfort of your own home while I capture natural, unposed moments between you and your new baby.

Relaxed, natural newborn photography
I just adore the way that unposed lifestyle photography works for newborn sessions. Your tiny new person is just perfect the way they are so it makes sense to invest in timeless, professional photographs that capture them exactly as you remember. The precious days and weeks in that newborn bubble are so fleeting, having honest, authentic images of this chapter to look back on will mean the world in years to come.

Sarah is very friendly and professional and nothing was too much trouble, even when baby wanted to feed all the time.
The pictures are brilliant and capture us as a family perfectly, thank you Sarah.

FAQs
What should we wear for our newborn photoshoot?
My top tips for choosing your outfits are:
-
Start with one key piece (maybe mum's dress or baby's romper) and style the rest of the family around this.
-
Choose colours and textures that compliment each other rather than matching exactly (unless you're going for a cute 'mummy and me' style match which I fully encourage!) and avoid bright primary colours or neons, logos or slogans as these distract from the main focus of the image - you and your baby! Neutrals and earthy colours including creams, greys, tan and olive always work well and can be coupled with a rich tone such as navy, emerald green, burnt orange or mustard yellow for a pop of colour.
-
Above all make sure everyone feels comfortable in what they're wearing to make for relaxed, natural photographs.
I am always happy to offer pre-shoot styling advice - you can send me some snaps of your outfit combination options, or even tell me your budget and let me loose on shopping suggestions if you're starting from scratch!
I also have a client wardrobe with selection of cute neutral baby outfits and dresses for mums available to borrow for your newborn shoot at no extra cost.
What if my baby is unsettled?
Babies can be unpredictable, and that's totally fine! I always allow plenty of time for my newborn photoshoots so there's no rush or pressure for baby to 'perform'. It's no problem at all to pause to feed, change nappies or just have some snuggles with mum or dad. In fact, I love capturing candid shots of these little 'in between' moments, the routine things that don't seem so important at the time but that will mean the world to look back on when your little one is not quite so little any more.
What age is best for newborn photos?
The beauty of a lifestyle newborn photoshoot is that there is no restriction on age and we can be really flexible with timing. From raw early moments in those first few days of your newborn bubble together, through to babies a month or two old developing those gorgeous rolls and first little smiles. My newborn lifestyle photoshoots are totally baby-led, your baby doesn't need to be fast asleep, won't be tightly wrapped or posed and can go about their baby business undisturbed. I just follow along and capture those precious, authentic moments of their early days with you exactly as they really are.
It's good to plan ahead and pre-book your newborn photoshoot date before baby arrives to make sure I have availability around your due date. I generally pencil in a date approximately 2 weeks after your due date, however this is completely flexible and can be brought forward or moved back depending on when baby decides to arrive and how you are all settling in to new family life.
